Minister for Culture, Sindh, to Inaugurate “6th IAPEX 2010, Int’l Building Material Exhibition & Conference, Today at Karachi Expo Centre
Karachi, April 16, 2010: Sassui Palejo, Minister for Culture, Government of Sindh, to inaugurate “6th IAPEX 2010, International Building Material Exhibition & Conference, Today at Karachi Expo Centre. The 3-day Event is organized by Institute of Architects Pakistan IAP, (Karachi Chapter), and the Event Manager is Ecommerce Gateway.
IAPEX 2010, International Building Material Exhibition is once again all set to showcase both traditional and contemporary building materials & finishes, hardware, building, home décor, furniture, fixtures/fittings, garden tools & implements and many other building and home related products manufactured in Pakistan and the Asian region. For the last five years IAPEX has been an esteemed platform to highlight not only the leaders in the Pakistani Building Products Industry but also introducing a large number of selected manufacturers and manufacturers’ representatives from all parts of the region.
Running concurrently with the Exhibition at the venue will be the IAP Forum on RAJ ARCHITECTURE or British Colonial Architecture of the subcontinent and its relevant examples from the region with special emphasis on Karachi. The topic being relevant to the happenings of the past decades in the subcontinent where most of the heritage has been lost, dismantled or tarnished due to individual greed as also the wrong policies of the authorities Recent example being the arson on M.A.Jinah Road where in a very short span of time the city of Karachi was devoid of its hundreds of years of history. The chapter with other stakeholders is busy salvaging and restoring the leftovers of the aftermath.
