Kalki Koechlin clears airs about rift between herself and Katrina Kaif

Kalki Koechlin was last seen in ‘Shaitan’ and she received mixed reviews for her performance in the film. Now, she has her eyes set on much awaited ‘Zindagi Mile Na Dobara’. Recently, gossip columns have been abuzz with the news of Kalki having complex with her co-star Katrina Kaif and that she doesn’t get along well with her.

However, Kalki has strongly denied such rumors and says, “There have been a lot of people picking on us that me and Kat are fighting. I think it is really sad because not one person has come and asked me what I think, they have just kind of assumed. There are no issues.”

Kalki has been actively participating in the promotional campaign of the film and was seen at the PVR Cinemas in Ambience mall, Gurgaon, along with Hrithik Roshan, Abhay Deol, Farhan Akhtar, Katrina Kaif, director Zoya Akhtar and Farhan’s production partner Ritesh Sidhwani.

Kalki’s next project is once again with her Dev D co-star Abhay Deol and she claims that the movie is a different one. “I don’t want to be labelled or trapped, my job is to change and adapt to everything that comes. And it’s exciting that I am doing something different,” she said.

Lover not told about wife killing

Harry Jarvis Harry Jarvis, who is serving life for murdering his wife, said he acted alone A man convicted of murdering his wife has told a trial he did not tell the woman accused of helping him to cover up the death, that she was dead.

Harry Jarvis, 61, was giving evidence at the High Court in Edinburgh in the trial of Rita Heyster.

She denies attempting to defeat the ends of justice following the death in 2009 of Carol Jarvis.

Ms Heyster was in a relationship with Jarvis and stayed at the family home in Bathgate, often living in the shed.

Jarvis, who was convicted of his wife’s death at a trial earlier this year, said he had never told Ms Heyster that his wife was dead or that he had hidden her body in the cellar.

Ms Heyster, who was cleared of a murder last week, has lodged a special defence blaming Jarvis for any wrongdoing.

Heyster remains on trial accused of helping Jarvis cover up the death of his wife.

On Monday, Ms Heyster’s legal team called Grimsby-born Jarvis as a defence witness.

He told the trial that when his wife died, in the early hours of 12 September 2009, he was alone in the house in Balbardie Crescent, Bathgate.

False errand

A woman juror left the courtroom for some minutes as Jarvis gave a graphic account of his wife’s final moments, dying in their bed after attempts to administer drugs to stop a fit were unsuccessful.

Jarvis said he never told Ms Heyster that his wife had died and invented an elaborate story to account for her absence from the house, pretending she was going for respite care.

He also said he sent Ms Heyster to a shop on a false errand, to keep her out of the house while he completed hiding his wife’s body.

Jarvis told solicitor advocate Ray McMenamin, defending Ms Heyster, that during that fatal weekend, he never told her Mrs Jarvis was dead.

Jarvis, at the start of his evidence, denied murdering his wife.

But, the jury heard, he had been jailed for life and ordered to serve a minimum of 15 years before he can apply for parole.

Jarvis said he had also given up an attempt to appeal against his conviction.

Ms Heyster’s trial has heard of apparent love notes scrawled to her by Jarvis and of claims they were planning to set up a new life together.

But Jarvis insisted in court that he and “Mrs Heyster”, as he called her, were just friends.

Their first contact in May 2008 was through the internet and, later, he stayed at her Peebles home because he was working in the area as an electronics engineer and moonlighting as a delivery man for an Indian take-away.

Medical problems

The following year Ms Heyster moved to the Bathgate area, living in bed and breakfast accommodation and, for about a month before his wife’s death, staying “odd nights” in the garden shed.

Mr Jarvis said former nurse Ms Heyster was going to be his wife’s carer so that he could go back to work.

But they did not want their four grown-up children to know about this until plans were finalised.

He said that was why Ms Heyster kept out of sight in the shed, or on occasion, in the cellar where Mrs Jarvis’ body was found on 16 September 2009.

The trial has heard that Londoner Mrs Jarvis suffered from a range of medical problems throughout her adult life and was sometimes virtually bed-ridden.

The trial continues.

Amy Winehouse booed in Serbia at start of tour Her Career is about over

BELGRADE, Serbia – Amy Winehouse was booed and jeered during a concert in Serbia’s capital as she stumbled onto the stage, mumbled through her songs and wandered off.

Serbian media described the concert late Saturday kicking off her European tour before about 20,000 fans as a “scandal” and a “disaster.” The Blic daily said the concert was “the worst in the history of Belgrade.”

Winehouse, who has publicly struggled with drugs and alcohol, was almost an hour late, before stumbling to the stage and appearing unable to remember the lyrics to her songs. She dropped the microphone and occasionally disappeared, with her band playing instead.

The crowd at Belgrade’s fortress could hardly tell which song Winehouse was singing and responded angrily. Many walked out in disappointment.

“It was horrible,” said Ivana Bilic, a fan. “She should have canceled the whole thing, rather than appear at all like this.”

The Daily Blic posted a clip from the concert on its website, commenting, “Listen if you dare.”

Tickets cost about euro40 ($57) — very expensive in the country where average salaries are about euro300 ($428) a month.

Winehouse recently spent a week at a rehab program in London. Her breakthrough album “Back to Black” from 2006 won five Grammy Awards, but her music in recent years has been overshadowed by drug use and run-ins with the law. It appears Amy Winehouse’s career is just about over. Most fans will probaly steer clear of her concerts from this point on. I think it is time they put her in Rehab.

Penn Badgley Knows You’re Skeptical About This Whole Jeff Buckley Thing

The announcement of Penn Badgley’s Jeff Buckley biopic has some people questioning whether Penn’s skills extend beyond looking dapper and being the loneliest of boys (both of which he does very well). “I haven’t begun vocal lessons, but I’m taking guitar lessons. I’m obviously, like, throwing myself 200 percent into it,” Badgley reassures New York Mag about his total commitment to the part. “I’m just really prepping in every possible manner, and yeah, vocal lessons will at some point be involved. But it is going to be me playing and singing.” Badgley’s already mastered the art of hair pomade application; clearly musical ability will quickly follow.

Seeing as how rumors of a Robert Pattinson Jeff Buckley film brought out people’s true opinions about which slender, mopey young actor would be better at playing the late musician, Badgley wants everyone to know just how honored he is at the opportunity to do better than Robert Pattinson. “And, you know, the reason I’m telling you is because, obviously, there’s a whole lot of people who are skeptical,” Penn admits. “[S]o I would … I just want to be clear that I’m very moved by the opportunity, and I really am giving myself to it.” We don’t know enough about him, but if Jeff Buckley wore vests and made out with Blake Lively, then Penn has this one in the bag.
